Lisa’s Class Room 2-408
In Odd Velvet, by Mary Whitcomb, the kids learn that it’s not nice to tease people. It can hurt people. I think Velvet’s brave because while she’s getting teased she doesn’t care. For show and tell, Velvet brought a flower. The other girls brought dolls. At recess Velvet played hopscotch, played on the swing, jumped rope and picked up worms. I know Velvet likes worms and so do boys. But girls don’t. Why does Velvet like worms and she’s a girl and girls don’t like worms? One day, it was Velvet’s birthday. They went to Velvet’s house. Velvet put eyeshadow on a girl. At the party, the kids were jumping on Velvet’s bed and now everyone likes Velvet because she’s not odd anymore.
