Have you ever seen something that is magical? In The Hello, Goodbye Window, by Norton Juster, there is a window called the “hello goodbye window” and they play with it, they say good morning to it, they also say good night to it. Poppy plays his harmonica for his granddaughter and his granddaughter likes it I do too. I think they really like this “hello goodbye window” so much. Nanna likes the stars and she asked her granddaughter to count them through the “hello goodbye window.” Nanna says good night to the stars. You can have a lot of special stuff in your life.
The theme in the book is if you use your imagination, fun things happen. The “hello goodbye window” is a special window. It looks like a regular window, but it’s not. Nanna, Poppy, and his granddaughter imagined playing games with the hello, goodbye window. I pretended that I’m a shark in the ocean.
The granddaughter really like Nanna and Poppy and Nanna and Poppy are the grandparents. Sometimes Poppy says in a real loud voice, “HELLO WORLD: WHAT HAVE YOU GOT FOR US TODAY?” Nobody ever answers, but he doesn’t care.
