Lisa’s Class Room 2-408
The theme in the book Owen is: If you’re a baby and have something you love so much that you feel like you have to take it with you everywhere. Once I had a toy that I felt like I had to take it with me. In the book Owen, by Kevin Henkes, Owen has a blanket named Fuzzy, and he loved it with all his heart. “Fuzzy goes where I go.” said Owen and Fuzzy did. “Upstairs, downstairs, in-between. Inside, outside, to the barber, AND EVEN TO THE BATHROOM!” “Fuzzy likes what I like,” said Owen and Fuzzy did. Orange juice, grape juice, chocolate milk. Ice cream, peanut butter, applesauce cake.
One day Mrs. Tweezers said if Owen is getting a little old for Fuzzy. Owen’s parent’s agreed. Owen’s parents tried different ways to get rid of Fuzzy, but Owen had a solution for each one. It seems that Owen’s afraid to grow up and maybe lonely without his blanket.
