Lisa’s Class Room 2-408
Have you ever gotten the worries? Well, in Wemberly Worried, by Kevin Henkes, Wemberly worried day and night. Her mother said, “You worry too much.” Her father said, “When you worry, I worry.” How does Wemberly manage to worry that much? I think Wemberly’s worries are sometimes worth it, and sometimes not.
Now do you want to see Wemberly’s worries? Okay: 1- “What if no one else has spots?” 2- “What if no one else wears stripes?” 3- “What if no one brings a doll?” 4- “What if the teacher’s mean?” 5- “What if the room smells bad?” 6- “What if they make fun of my name?” 7- “What if I can’t find the bathroom?” 8- “What if I hate the snack?” 9- “What if I have to cry?” That’s a lot of worries! Wemberly’s worries usually haven’t happened yet, and she still worries about them. At the end of the book, Wemberly doesn’t worry so much anymore.
