Third graders wrote persuasive pieces on a strong opinion they had about a topic. We began the unit by collecting entries on topics we knew a lot about. Students practiced writing with a strong opinion. Their goal was to be convincing when speaking to their audience.
Students were asked to write 3-5 paragraphs, each with a clear purpose and supporting details. Students also learned the structure of an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Hopefully when you read these pieces, you’ll be convinced!
